Instead of the same old metallic paper bag when giving wine as a gift, why not send them off on a treasure hunt adventure, ala Da Vinci Code style, where the prize at the end is delicious, delicious wine? Well, that’s where the Vino Vault Wine Cryptex comes in.

This gadget locks up a bottle of wine. To open it, the recipient needs to turn the dials to a 5-letter word of your choosing. You can even reset the code which makes the Wine Cryptex reusable again and again.

When you’re not using it to torture someone with the promise of wine they can’t quite get at, you can use it on your own wine/liquor bottles as a good way to keep your spouse or teenage kids from stealing a glass. Frankly, I think “bottle security” is what the primary use of this gadget should be. It works really well.

So long as you’re sober enough to remember the password, anyway. On the other hand, if you’re that drunk, it’s probably time to stop drinking.

The vault is made from durable ABS plastic and holds bottles as big as 3-1/4” diameter by 11-3/4” height.
