This Handbook for the Recently Deceased from the classic movie Beetlejuice is a perfect birthday gift for that person who just went over the hill.
The outside of this journal, it’s a replica of the Handbook for the Recently Deceased found in the Maitlands’ house after they die. On the inside, there are hundreds of pages to fill with your own exciting (or made up) stories. The book includes a bookmark ribbon so you don’t lose your place. The end papers feature blue and white stripes with a skull, cockroach, and arrow pattern.
Usually it takes you passing away to get a copy of this book, but after a few near death experiences, we managed to snag a few copies without getting our heads shrunk.
Just don’t write down anything you wouldn’t like others to see. In the movie, when other living people found the book, it did not go well.
Along with being a great birthday gift, it’s also a great (if somewhat insensitive) gift for that friend who just got out of the hospital after a life-threatening “here, hold my beer” accident.
And yes, my journal does, in fact, read like stereo instructions.
